Consumers often equate sustainable packaging to being recyclable. Plastics have certainly been the villain of this conversation in recent years, with confusion and frustration about how and when these products can be recycled or reused, if at all, says Hartman Group. As companies continue to seek alternative materials and processes, consumers’ packaging priorities are becoming much more nuanced than “recyclable” and “non-plastic” today.
